Weekly Photo Challenge – Green

This week’s photo challenge came at a good time for me because in Hong Kong, and China, it is currently Shanghai Hairy Crab season.  For those of you who follow me on Facebook and Instagram know I am completely and utterly addicted to these crabs.  Tonight we had them for dinner.  Here I am picking the crabs.  The hairy crabs are in season every year from beginning of October to end of December.  They are dark green in color and turn a beautiful orange when steamed.  I plan on posting a blog all about Shanghai Hairy Crab.  If you want to read and learn more about them, come back soon!

G-Chic- Nicely done. Love the hairy crabs, too. I remember walking through the Kowloon fish monger stalls with a local friend and hand-picking our dinner that was prepared down the alley at a restaurant. Again, nice job!

Thank you. I love the wet markets in HK. Always fun to search for what is fresh to cook for dinner that day!!! Definitely don’t get this back in California 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

Mmmm Hairy Crabs! I actually just took a trip to HK and was surprised to see them there. 阳澄湖 is certainly a lot closer to Shanghai!
